May 8
Spring rain has fallen;
The road is shiny and wet.
Tapping from the leaves.
Thick mist over barn;
Muted clucking of the hens.
Other birds rejoice.

May 9
Rooster's crow is hoarse.
I'm wearing gloves on May 9;
Howled wind has died down.
On the far mountain
Misty clouds hang thick and dark.
Mirrored stream shimmers.
Wood fence posts lie back
After resisting the snow;
Time for summer's break.
Open to the world
A trash cornucopia.
Waiting for takers.
On the red garage
Leaf shadows dance and shiver
Until the sunshine fades.
Sun light is subdued;
Shadows ebb-flow on the road.
Gray clouds rule the sky.
