Frozen Finger Time

Through tree limb crystals
Bright sunshine showers the lawn;
Chimes swing silently.

Shadows on the lawn--
Sparsely black on field of white;
No wind or motion.

 Out of the barn door
Two white horns pierce the darkness;
Olivia sits.

Thin crystalline limbs
Hang over the moving stream
Flashing rays of light.

Its tear drops frozen
Red holly berry glistens
In the bitter sun.

Swiftly I write this;
Swiftly I put my gloves on--
Frozen finger time.

Picking in the snow
Small bird forages for food.
(Find it where you can.)

Sensuous snow mounds,
Bristling glistening tree limbs:
A winter art show.
