What Cause to Worry?

On my garage door
A clear dark shadow is etched
As if forever.

Evergreen is brown;
Needles droop in the bright sun
In a green ocean.

Brought down to the earth
Giant oak's shadow lies flat,
Run over by cars.

The last dead flower
Hangs from the brambly bush.
Last Spring it was white.

Warm sun at my back;
Shadowed road in front of me.
What cause to worry?

In this morning light
Even weeds look majestic--
Mysteries of green.

On distant mountain
Some trees try to touch the sky
With little success.

In a cloud's twinkling
Grayness descends on the road
(An instant ago).
