Burst of Sprinkled Sun

In the lilac bush
Tiny figure sits waiting
To go to feeder.

Burst of sprinkled sun--
Forsythia is blooming
Right before my eyes.

Collette is licking
Olivia's ears and nose--
A morning grooming.

Roadside is yellow--
Forsythia rules the day;
Its April shower.

Delicate and thin,
Fresh clusters of green spring up:
The first chives of Spring.

Brown evergreen
Stands upright near its neighbors;
(Except it is dead).

Old fickle stream bed
Is without water once more.
(On and off again.)

Standing in the field
Wearing his brown ranger hat:
It's Smoky the Stump!
