A Sprinkle of Light

Forsythia blooms
Dot the formerly brown bush:
A sprinkle of light.

Sun and clouds dancing
As light breeze shakes the limbs;
Cautious cardinal eats.

Wires, mountains and clouds
Intersecting silently:
April afternoon.

The sky grows darker
As rain clouds gather their strength
Sweeping off the sun.

Through the slatted fence
Solitary soccer ball
Has field to itself.

Shadows on the road--
Here one second, gone the next,
Great uncertainty.

Rain drops are falling;
The weather forecast was right
And I will be wet.

A passing car stops;
Driver offers me a ride.
Wonders never cease!
