Where did they come from,
These flowers in my front yard?
Who could have brought them?
Two birds on a wire
Survey the landscape below,
Then burst into flight.
Green stream plants sparkle
Fed by the running water.
Buds welcome the sun.
From the shadowed car
Two dogs bark furiously--
Sounds of impotence.
An invitation:
Prone trash can with mouth open
Welcomes all garbage.
Small fir tree glistens
Bobbing in the gentle breeze--
Mix of light and air.
Spinning foam circle
In the roadside rivulet
Just goes round and round.
A stillness descends;
Chirping, cars and voices all cease.
Oh, it's ten twenty.
How did it happen?
In one hour the plant flowered
From closed bud to bloom.
