First Dandelions
Sun on the grating;
Green sprouts growing near the tree;
Bull kissing his butt.
A fluff of bright green--
Tree seems to float over stream;
Light puff of color.
A trio of dogs
Bark furiously at me
And then just shut up.
Ring around the tree
Seems like it's there forever.
(It's just a shadow).
They survived winter
Green cluster of ground plants;
Sun praises them now.
Spiky, translucent
Scattered in shiny clusters
Chives are everywhere.
Hollow like the wind;
Soft and gentle like a breeze;
Pine needles shiver.
On the warm porch steps
Eating my tuna sandwich;
It must be spring time.
