Savoring Pleasure

The flowers are bright;
Dappled earth is receptive--
It's the promised land.

The air is yellow;
Forsythia rule the sky;
(In my front yard sky).

Transformer humming;
The cows are chewing their cuds;
Doesn't get much better.

Neighbors chat in yard;
Woodpecker pecks so softly
Stream flows lazily.

The empty stream bed
Waits patiently for Spring rains.
They'll come soon enough.

Poised like a dancer:
Budding leaf stretches upward,
Saluting the sun.

Waiting for a stream
Bridge crosses the barren earth.
Out of work (for now).

Ghost reclines his head
Closing his eyes in the sun;
Savoring pleasure.
