Summer sun in Spring;
Winter clouds creep in and out;
Season lunacy.
My lilacs are gone;
Rhododendrons are blooming;
Branches bend and bow.
The brown and blooming
Coexisting side by side--
Nature's oracles.
In their blurred focus
Dandelion puffs like smoke
Whisper in the wind.
Buttercups are out
Shouting yellow to the sun;
Waving to the wind.
Suddenly it's dark;
Clouds and insects rule the air.
But it is cooler.
Small purple pillars
Bloom around the spreading ferns;
Both giving greeting.
By the forest shade
I walk through a moment's rest
From the blazing sun.
Winter clouds creep in and out;
Season lunacy.
My lilacs are gone;
Rhododendrons are blooming;
Branches bend and bow.
The brown and blooming
Coexisting side by side--
Nature's oracles.
In their blurred focus
Dandelion puffs like smoke
Whisper in the wind.
Buttercups are out
Shouting yellow to the sun;
Waving to the wind.
Suddenly it's dark;
Clouds and insects rule the air.
But it is cooler.
Small purple pillars
Bloom around the spreading ferns;
Both giving greeting.
By the forest shade
I walk through a moment's rest
From the blazing sun.
