Falling Like Light Leaves

From walk of Monday, February 5, 2018

Flying in bushes,
They disappear in branches,
These frantic small birds.

Yesterday's snow fall
Lies brilliantly on the ground
On this sunny morn.

Tiny dab of snow
Crowns the top of the wood post.
(How does it do that?)

Sculpted by the wind
Sensuous snow hills recline
In the cold pale field.

Beyond the bushes
Empty snow covered bench sits
With its back towards me.

High above the ground
Tall trees look down on the snow;
(Have no speck of white).

The wooden tree elf
Now has pristine crown of snow.
(He still looks grumpy.)

Falling like light leaves
Small birds swirl in the bushes;
Then peck in the snow.
