Ubiquitous Drops

From walk of September 13, 2015

Shadow of a man
Standing in the field next door?
(It's just a tree trunk.)

All is wetness now;
The greens are very subdued.
Rain is a presence.

 Roaring past my house
The sleeping stream is awake.
Crows call from tree tops.

Ponds in the front lawn;
Swamps by the side of the road.
Water victory.

Soft blanket of gray
Lies suspended in the sky;
Small silent drops fall.

Hanging from tree limbs,
Perched on the leaves of bushes--
Ubiquitous drops.

Beacon in the gloom;
Amber light from inside house---
Lonely floor lamp shines.

On the road ahead
Sun shards fall on the pavement

And then melt away.
