This Sacrosanct Day

Happy indoor plant,
Outside, waving to the sun;
Growing to the sky.

Even the autos
Drive by with worshipful "whoosh"
This sacrosanct day.

 Just Olivia--
"Alfred's butchered," Susan says.
Just Olivia.

Dead leaf on the ground,
Waiting to be blown away
From the verdant lawn.

Delicate white bloom
Doesn't know that it's beautiful--
Nobody's told it.

White snowball flowers
Nodding in the gentle breeze
Agree on something.

Shadows draw their lines
On the barn red garage door
With forgiving pens.

Dead leaf on the road,
Freshly fallen and still green
Has no where to go.
