Spider Silhouettes

Crows cry in gray sky;
The house is filled with silence;
No shadows on lawn.


Blue spots in the sky;
Still, the sun seems to have gone;
Slight breeze shakes the bush.

On the bare tree top
A giant nest is exposed
Black against the sky.

Spider silhouettes;
Bare dark tree limbs line the sky
Covering the clouds.

Slow chilled breeze today
Sweeps imperceptibly;
Following the road.


Ghost shadow appears;
A sunlit second on the road--
Instant memory.

An old rotten stump,
Moss broken in four parts
Shelters a dead leaf.

The sun has returned
As if it had never left--
This moment of light!

A Savory Mix

Warm sun, snow patches;
Alfred prances with delight;
I walk joyously.

Are these trees barren?
Their strong limbs reach skyward;
The goats keep eating.

Are these green sprouts now
That surround the dark stuck leaves
A Fall illusion?

Halloween mailbox--
Witches' hat joins Christmas bells;
Summer's forgotten.


Plane snores above;
Lazy breeze shakes the pine bows;
I walk through shadows.

Aseema walks, too;
Silence and conversation--
A savory mix.
